Nails have a transparent layer on top which is made up of keratin. If not maintained, nails can be brittle, easily breaking and discoloured. Healthy nails are strong and even coloured while weak nails have patches and signs of yellowing. Healthy nails are also smooth and uniform. Weak nails are generally an effect of improper care and lack of attention towards them. One such reason can be constant and long-lasting exposure to water, soap and overuse of nail polish.

Not to worry though, it is rather simple to bring your nails back to their healthy condition. You need to follow a healthy balanced diet, lifestyle and a proper nail care schedule. This will help you have healthy and good looking nails which are strong and smooth. So here we bring you some of the remedies you can use to bring your nails back:

1Olive Oil:

Image result for Olive OilOlive oil is a perfect moisturiser for your nails and helps you make your nails and cuticles stronger. There are two ways you can use this oil to strengthen your nails:

  1. Simply massage your nails, both over and on the underside with warm olive oil. Wait for about 15 minutes and then wash the oil away. You can do this 2-3 times a day for best results.
  2. Another way is to mix 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to 3 teaspoons of olive oil and warm the oil. Apply this on your nails at night using a cotton swab and wear soft cotton gloves. Leave it for the night and wash off in the morning using lukewarm water.
